After covering a distance of three thousand kilometers, Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra entered Delhi from Badarpur border on Saturday morning. Rahul’s convoy will also pass through India Gate. There will be different halts in seven parliamentary constituencies of Delhi. Their command has been handed over to former local MPs or candidates. Top leaders of the party, artists, sportspersons, youth along with people of all classes and communities and thousands of party workers will also participate in the yatra. Thousands of travel passes have been issued. There is a possibility that more than 50 thousand people will participate in the yatra. The yatra will reach near Ashram Chowk at around 10:30 am and end at Red Fort at 04:30 pm. Due to the yatra, there is a possibility of jam at many places. In view of this, Delhi Police has also issued an advisory.

Bharat Jodo Yatra will go only through India Gate
Among Congress officials, Jairam Ramesh, Venugopal and Digvijay had categorically denied that the yatra would not go to Red Fort without passing through India Gate. This was followed by a meeting with Delhi Police officers and the meeting was slightly modified in the form of the visit. It was cleared by Delhi Police officials. Heavy traffic is expected from Badarpur border to Red Fort in Delhi on Saturday in view of Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra, Delhi Traffic Police said. The traffic police has advised commuters to avoid traveling from Badarpur border to Red Fort and make maximum use of public transport.

A senior Delhi Police officer told that three police officers DCP Joy Tarki, DCP Pranab Tayal, DCP Isha Pandey went to Faridabad to talk to these Congress leaders. There was a long meeting with the Delhi Police officers and the three Congress leaders here. The new route was decided by changing the route in the meeting. According to this route, the yatra will go from Ashram Chowk to Mathura Road, Delhi Public School Mathura Road via Nizamuddin, from there to Zoo traffic light, then Sher Shah Suri Road near High Court to India Gate.

At the end of Shershah Suri Marg, the yatra will take a right turn and then cross Purana Qila Road and come back to Mathura Road. Further the yatra will go to Red Fort via ITO, Delhi Gate. All the three Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh, Venugopal and Digvijay Singh agreed to this route. It is being told that Rahul Gandhi has also given his consent on this route.

Delhi Traffic Police has started preparations after the route was decided late on Friday night. It is being told that traffic will not be stopped anywhere on the way. The yatra will be conducted in a line on one side of the road. For this, a large number of traffic police personnel and local police have been deployed. Adequate security arrangements have also been made to ensure that there is no disturbance in the yatra.
